Same-Sex Marriage at Middle Church
July 15, 2011
Two Middle Collegiate Church ministers, Jacqui Lewis and Adriene Thorne, will be at City Hall on July 24, 25 and 26, presiding over same-sex marriages. On July 31, during Middle’s 11:15 AM worship celebration, Alex Bertrand and Jeremy Price will be united in marriage. Middle Collegiate Church passed a Marriage Equality Resolution in 2007, which was affirmed once again this week by our Consistory. Middle Church is registered with GLAAD as a congregation that affirms same-sex marriage.


Jacqui to Speak at DeWitt Proctor Institute

Our Executive Director, Jacqui Lewis, joins a distinguished list of congregational leaders at the 17th Annual Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute for Child Advocacy Ministry sponsored by the Children’s Defense Fund, July 18-22, 2011 at Haley Farm in Clinton, Tennessee. Jacqui will also lead two workshops on creating multicultural communities of faith that welcome children.
